The automotive and transport industry workers' union AKT has started a strike today, February 15, 2023, and has announced that it will continue until February 21, 2023. In addition, the Postal and Logistics Union PAU has announced that it will support the AKT strike with support measures regarding the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers from February 16 to February 21, 2023.
Effects of strikes on letter delivery:
- Delays can be expected in letters delivered by Posti. Posti published a release on the subject on February 14, 2023: https://www.posti.fi/fi/asiakastuki/tiodetteet/akt-n-lakko-vaikeutta-lahetysten-kulku
- There are no expected delays in the delivery of letters delivered by Jakeluyhtiö Suomi. The following postal companies operated by Posti are an exception: ESA (Lahti), ILVES (Hämeenlinna) and SJOY (Kuopio). There may be delays in deliveries in these areas.
- The strikes do not affect PostNord Strålfors' international letter deliveries.
Effects of the strike on the processing of purchase invoices:
- Post delivery delays naturally also affect the delivery of incoming shipments to our office. The arrival of purchase invoices for processing may therefore be delayed.
